This is pretty much the prime example of why it’s easier to believe a dead prophet over a live one. Squint your eyes and turn the Bible sideways and you can make it say what you want it to. Those prophets we can believe in. But living prophets whose words can’t be changed to accommodate our personal and political beliefs? Far more difficult to believe.
